ALABAMA REGIONAL TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

To compete in the Alabama Regional Destination ImagiNationTM Tournaments, each team must complete the following tasks BEFORE January 25, 2008.

1. complete the DIONline Challenge registration if not already completed or click here to download the PDF.
2. submit TEAM and TEAM MANAGER registration information online at the ACA website (below)
3. submit APPRAISER and VOLUNTEER information for each team that will be competing

PLEASE NOTE: ALL information MUST be complete and Appraiser Information MUST be submitted in order to complete your team’s registration and to ensure your team
has the opportunity to showcase their talents to a panel of qualified officials, so make sure you gather all the information needed ahead of time so you can complete everything at once! Viable email addresses are crucial to this process as most tournament information will be sent via email.

BY SUBMITTING THIS FORM, YOU ARE AGREEING THAT YOU understand that if your team does not provide two trained Appraisers for the regional tournament that the team will NOT be allowed to advance to the affiliate tournament.

Lastly, after completing online registration, mail a check payable to Alabama Creative Adventures for $40.00* BY FEBRUARY 8, 2008.

*Tournament fees are $50.00 for each Team Registration submitted after January 25th and NONE will be accepted after Feb. 8.

2008 APPRAISER/VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FORM

Appraiser and Volunteer Registration

Our success is due in part to the efforts of the many individuals who volunteer their time to serve as Tournament Officials (Appraisers). The primary source for these individuals is from participating teams and without sufficient volunteer help, we would be unable to provide an annual Regional Tournament.

To underscore the importance of this requirement, any team that does not provide two trained appraisers for tournaments WILL NOT be allowed to advance to the next level of competition. We also ask that each team provides at least one untrained VOLUNTEER who will serve a 1-2 hour shift assisting with tournament logistics, either on Friday evening or on tournament day (this person CAN be the parent of a team member, he or she will be able to request a shift time).

Each team must submit the names of two people willing to serve as Appraisers. Individuals named may be experienced OR new to creative problem solving tournaments, but must attend the following:

1. Appraiser Training on EITHER

Saturday, February 2, 2008 from 9:00-12:00 at Bryant High School in Tuscaloosa
Saturday, February 9, 2008 from 9:00-12:00 at Discovery Middle School in Madison

2. Regional Tournament at which the team whom he or she represents is competing

Saturday, March 1, 2008 from 8:00-4:30 at Bryant High School in Tuscaloosa
Saturday, March 8, 2008 from 8:00-4:30 at Discovery Middle School in Madison

3. Should the team he or she represents advance, then the commitment concludes with the Affiliate Tournament on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 8:00-4:30 at Bob Jones High School in Madison (appraisers are also welcome to assist even if the team he or she represents does NOT advance!)

Coordinators and/or Team Managers: It is YOUR responsibility to contact your appraisers to both verify and remind them of their participation on these dates! Except for emergency situations, your team WILL be penalized if your appraisers fail to show up at the tournament(s)!
